Brief for APILA’s international illustration picture book competition.

To discuss the refugee crisis in response to current social and political issues. My aim was to share a daunting journey of a mum and daughter leaving their home. Using poetry to keep my picture book lighthearted and relatable. The imagry is hand-drawn with ink and bleach. I wanted the effect of quick drawings and I included any mistakes to make my desired outcome of that it was drawn along the journey.
